Care Information for Roman Blinds
This information will help you solve small issues that you may come across when you are fitting a Roman Blind.
Our Roman Blinds are supplied with breakaway cord guides. All Roman Blinds are made so that the cord that raises and drops the blind will run through breakaway cord guides on the bottom two tapes. These cord guides will breakaway with a weight of 6kg to prevent strangulation.
If your cord guide comes apart you can easily clip them back together again by pressing part B in the column of part A. You will need to press this quite firmly to make sure they are attached.
On our standard head rails there is a cord consolidator to ensure the group of cords turn into one cord. This is designed to break when a weight of 6kg is applied to the cord if your cord consolidator does come apart then it can easily be clipped back together again.
If your cord consolidator breaks into two pieces as shown in the picture you can easily put them back together again by placing them together and firmly clipping them back in place.
Creased Roman Blind
All of our Roman Blinds are ironed before despatch. If your Roman Blind becomes creased in transit this can be easily be rectified. Most creases will drop out after a few days and we would recommend where possible you allow a few days for this to happen. If the creases do not drop out all you need to do is iron your blind with a cool iron on the lining side and this should solve the creasing. Please make sure you do not iron over the tapes. All blinds should be dressed into their folds when up for the first few days to ensure they always look crisp and neat. Any stab stitched blinds will have a more relaxed look as they are only sewn in places and not all the way across the blind.
Adjusting the drop of your Blind
When you are fitting your Roman Blind if you need to adjust your drop you can make small adjustments where the blind sits on the Velcro to change the drop. This is also useful if you feel the blind does not look straight when it is fitted at the window, particulary if you are fitting inside your reveal and the reveal is not quite square.
If the blind is not sitting quite straight the blind needs dropping to its lowest point, the cords need un tying and then all the cord needs to be taken off the barrels by pulling each cord down to its furthest point. Make sure that all the cord is off the start point and each cord from the barrel is at the bottom. The re tie the cord at the bottom and operate the blind as normal.
